Did someone say chocolate? And brioche? Together? Yes, this chocolate brioche recipe is a little decadent so make sure you make it when there are a lot of people around so you don’t eat it all yourself!
Chocolate Brioche Recipe
- 1 jar of chocolate spread (Nutella or Coco Harvest)
- 130 ml milk
- 11 g dry yeast
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 40 g soft butter
- Chocolate chips (optional)
In a container, feed the yeast by mixing the lukewarm milk and yeast together and letting it foam. In another bowl, add the flour, 2 egg yolks, salt, sugar and butter. Pour the foamy yeast and knead for 5 minutes.
Roll the dough using a rolling pin and form a rectangle. Brush the dough with chocolate spread. Grease the tin.
Cut into strips, enough to fill your baking tin. Roll the strips and place them in a tin. Leave to rest for 1 hour and 30 minutes, making sure it is away from draughts.
Preheat the oven to 165°C.
Brush the dough with the remaining egg yolk. Add the chocolate chips or not, depends how decadent you want it to be!
Bake for 25 mins.
