Yoga Design Lab mats review

Yoga Design Lab is now in Australia, bringing with them their range of products for those who enjoy practising yoga.

We were was lucky enough to get one of their beautiful yoga mats to review. It is quite luxurious, just as described on their website. I am not picky with yoga mats. I can use the $5 one with no problem. But I get very sweaty hands and feet and every time I use the mat I find myself constantly adjusting myself because I keep slipping. A small thing but it can get annoying.

Yoga Design Lab mats are made of absorbent microfiber on the top layer bonded to a natural tree rubber base. It provides the sweaty grip of a towel and the cushion of a yoga mat. No more slipping when wet. And if you have dry hands and feet, a light spray of water at the beginning of the session will prevent sliding.

Aside from being practical, Yoga Design Lab mats are also very pretty . No more odour when you press your face on the mat, no toxic smell that you get when it’s a cheap one (and they do smell). It is eco-friendly, biodegradable, recyclable, and made of 100% natural tree rubber and water-based inks.

There are currently 13 different designs in their online store. This pattern is ‘Horizon’:

When it gets grubby from constant use, all you need to do is put it in the washing machine on its own with normal detergent on gentle cycle in cold water. Hang to dry and that’s it.

The mat comes with a durable carrying strap to make it easy to carry around. And $1 from every purchase goes to support Urban Youth Yoga Programs in need.

With an RRP of $108 they are more costly than your regular yoga mat but it’s a worthy investment if you do yoga everyday. And free shipping. Yay!

Disclaimer: Her Collective received a complimentary mat.
