Review: Sunday style with Adrift

Sundays for me are all about slow starts, lazy schedules and spending quality time with my beautiful family. Saturdays are always jam-packed with kids’ sports and birthday parties, so it’s nice to have one day of the week when we can all take a breath and just ‘be’.

We often take the kids down to the beach or out on a new adventure somewhere. I like to break out of my usual ‘mum wardrobe’ and wear something nice. I’m a work from home mum with four young kids, and my wardrobe is about as tired as I am, so I was delighted to receive a beautifully-wrapped package from the lovely team over at Adrift.

When I opened up the tissue paper, out slinked a silky new dress in the most gorgeous fairy-style print. It’s not a dress you simply put on, it’s a dress that glides on. It’s soft, light and made from 100 per cent silk. And it looks like this:

I’m not used to wearing such free form, floaty clothes, but the style is great for covering up the bits that you might like to cover up. As well as being a very pretty addition to my wardrobe it is also super comfortable and a lot more elegant than my usual jeans and shirt.

I’m a knee boot kind of girl, so I wear the dress with boots and black tights. As it gets cooler I’ll be wearing it with a long black cardi.

My three-year-old loved it as well. I think he was surprised to see me wearing a dress, let alone such a pretty one! The silk also feels lovely to snuggle up to.

Along with bohemian styles in bright, beautiful colours and fabrics, the Autumn collection from Adrift also offers stylishly practical options with their ‘Betty Basics’ and ‘Fresh Laundry’ ranges.

Here’s some more pieces from the current range which have been tempting me:

What does Sunday style mean to you?

Disclosure: I received a complimentary silk dress from Adrift for review purposes.
